Araqchi addresses Zelensky: The world is tired of confused clowns

On Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, in a sharp reaction to the recent statements of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, called him a “confused clown” and called on the world to stop paying attention to such statements.

In a message he posted on the X social network, Araghchi wrote: “Mr. Zelensky is misusing American and European taxpayer money to line the pockets of his corrupt generals, and he is doing this under the pretext of confronting what he calls an illegal ‘aggression’ that violates the UN Charter; at the same time, he openly and shamelessly calls for an illegal US aggression against Iran; an action that violates the same UN Charter.”

The Iranian Foreign Minister emphasized: “The rest of the world is fed up with confused clowns; unlike your army, which relies on foreign support and is full of mercenary forces, we Iranians know how to defend ourselves and we don’t need to beg from foreigners.

Araqchi’s strong reaction came after Zelensky, in controversial statements, called on the US government to take a tougher stance against what he called the threat from “Iran,” and some analysts interpreted it as a call for military action against Iran.

Araghchi’s statements reflect the escalation of verbal tension between Iranian and Ukrainian officials in recent months, especially after Kiev’s increased criticism of the alleged role of some countries in indirectly supporting Russia in the Ukrainian war.
