AFG MPH delegation in Bangladesh calls for export of quality medicines and joint investment in medicine production
A delegation from the Ministry of Public Health met with officials from the country and the Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Industries Association during an official visit to Bangladesh and called for the export of high-quality medicines at reasonable prices to the country.
According to the Ministry of Public Health, Hafiz Dr. Naeemullah Ayubi, Director General of the Ministry’s Medicines and Health Products Regulation Department, met and discussed with Dr. Muhammad Zakir Hossain, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Industries Association, and his accompanying delegation.
In this meeting, the two sides focused on the issues of production, regulation, trade, and investment in the pharmaceutical sector, emphasizing that pharmaceutical trade must be conducted legally, regularly, transparently, and in accordance with international standards. They also agreed on the need to accelerate the process of registering and evaluating pharmaceutical products.
The Afghan delegation invited Bangladeshi pharmaceutical companies to enter the pharmaceutical sector in partnership with Afghan investors or independently inside Afghanistan, and in return, Bangladeshi officials pledged to export quality pharmaceuticals to Afghanistan at reasonable and low prices.
