Putin meets with Trump’s special envoy in Moscow, focusing on Ukraine crisis and peace delegation

Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff in Moscow on Thursday.

According to the Russian TASS news agency, Putin announced his plans for this meeting in a meeting with members of the country’s Security Council.

He emphasized that Trump’s special envoy will travel to Moscow to continue talks on resolving the Ukraine crisis.

Putin also said that during the meeting he plans to discuss the details of Russia’s participation in Trump’s proposed “peace commission,” a delegation that Trump had previously invited Putin to join.

This meeting comes as diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine and establish lasting peace mechanisms have intensified in recent months, and Russia and the United States are exploring ways to reduce tensions and find a political solution.
