Pakistan Intelligence Minister: The growing relations between Afghanistan and India are a foreign plan to destabilize of Pakistan

Pakistan’s Intelligence Minister Ataullah Tarar on Monday expressed grave concern over the increase in meetings and talks between senior Afghan officials and India.

Tarar said the frequent presence of Afghan officials in India every few days and their talks indicated the implementation of a foreign-backed plan to destabilize Pakistan.

He called the terrorist groups responsible for the recent attacks in Pakistan “followers of a foreign-funded program,” adding: “What kind of Islam is it that you take money from India and carry out explosions here?”

These statements come at a time when Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, Public Health Minister Noor Jalal Jalali, and Industry and Commerce Minister Nooruddin Azizi of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan visited India last year.

Pakistan links the visits to accusations of supporting armed groups, while Kabul and New Delhi have strongly denied any interference in Pakistan’s security affairs.

The Pakistani army also announced in a report that in 2025, the country witnessed 5,397 terrorist attacks; of these, 3,811 occurred in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 1,557 in Balochistan.

Pakistani security forces conducted 75,175 intelligence operations and killed 2,597 irresponsible militants during the same period.

Pakistan’s Information Minister emphasized that the country’s government will combat terrorism with all its might and ensure the security of its citizens.

In response to these statements, Mohibullah Wasiq, the head of the Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, stressed Kabul’s balanced foreign policy and said that expanding bilateral relations with India based on mutual respect is one of the important priorities of Afghanistan’s foreign policy.

He added that after four years of political interactions, this new phase of relations provides an important opportunity to strengthen economic cooperation, develop trade, consolidate bilateral relations, and secure common interests, and can play an effective role in regional stability and progress.
