
Arrest of rioters and vandals in Shiraz, Iran

Based on Iranian media reports, the Fars Province police announced the arrest of a number of people responsible for causing unrest and destroying public places and public property in the city of Shiraz.
These individuals had attempted to destroy and disrupt public security during the recent unrest, and were identified and arrested through the efforts of intelligence forces.
Also, the Supreme Court of Iran announced that 6 security guards in Kermanshah province were martyred by rioters.
In other news, armed terrorists set fire to a mosque in the holy city of Mashhad last night (January 20), an act that has been condemned.
The Chief Justice of Iran also emphasized that the Islamic Penal Code foresees severe punishments for rioters and that the judiciary will not show any leniency in enforcing the law and will deal decisively with those who create insecurity and destruction.
These developments are occurring while security forces are described as trying to establish public peace and security in various parts of the country.
