Sirajuddin Haqqani welcomes statements by Pakistani scholars and the country’s Foreign Minister
Interior Minister Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani welcomed the recent statements of Pakistani religious scholars and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Afghanistan.
Haqqani said at a meeting in Kabul that he appreciated the efforts of anyone who took steps to resolve the problems between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
He particularly thanked Maulana Fazlur Rehman, leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, and Maulana Taqi Usmani for their statements at the meeting of Pakistani religious scholars, as well as Ishaq Dar for his kind words.
The Minister of Interior emphasized that the Islamic Emirate is committed to the security and stability of the region and that Afghans are not considered a threat to any country.
He added: “We, who have established unparalleled security in our country, also have a message of brotherhood and peace for other countries, and we will address the legitimate concerns of the parties.”
Sirajuddin Haqqani also called on the countries of the world to participate in the reconstruction of Afghanistan and invited Afghan citizens to cooperate with the Islamic Emirate in this regard.
He stated that Afghans have suffered from long wars and destruction, and now is the time for reconstruction and progress.
The statement comes as Pakistani clerics at a meeting led by Maulana Fazlur Rehman criticized the violation of Afghanistan’s territory and called for a dialogue.
Ishaqdar also stressed that Islamabad has good intentions and wants to prevent the use of Afghan territory against Pakistan.
