Acting Afghan Embassy in Tehran Meets with CEO of Chabahar Free Zone

Maulvi Fazl Mohammad Haqqani, the acting head of the Embassy of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Tehran, met with Dr. Mohammad Saeed Arbabi, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director of the Chabahar Free Zone Organization, Iran, in the city of Chabahar.

The Afghan Embassy in Tehran announced on its X page that in this meeting, the two sides emphasized the expansion of economic and trade relations between Afghanistan and Iran and discussed and exchanged views on the effective use of the capacities of the Chabahar Free Zone to facilitate exports, increase trade exchanges, develop transit, and resolve existing challenges.

This visit is part of diplomatic efforts to strengthen economic ties between the two neighboring countries, and the Chabahar Free Zone plays a key role in these relations as an important transit gateway for Afghanistan’s access to open waters.

Officials from both sides expressed hope that such meetings would lead to the implementation of joint projects and an increase in the volume of bilateral trade.
