In an official statement, the Venezuelan government strongly condemned the action of US forces to seize a ship carrying its crude oil in international waters of the Caribbean Sea, calling it “a clear example of international piracy and a dangerous act.”
The statement emphasized that this action is a gross violation of international law and Venezuela’s sovereign rights.
Caracas warned that this aggression “will not go unanswered” and announced that it would explore and use all necessary options to defend its interests and rights.
The incident is the latest in ongoing tensions between Washington and Caracas over Venezuelan oil exports, which the United States has placed under severe sanctions.
