Japan pledges $19.5 million in new humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

The Japanese embassy in Kabul announced that the Japanese government has decided to provide $19.5 million in new aid to Afghanistan.

This aid will be used through United Nations agencies, international organizations, and Japanese non-governmental organizations in the humanitarian sector and to meet the basic needs of the country’s people.

According to a press release from the Japanese Embassy, ​​since August 2021, it has provided more than $549 million in aid to Afghanistan.

This is part of Japan’s continued support for the people of Afghanistan in the difficult humanitarian situation
