World Bank: Afghanistan’s inflation will be one of the lowest in the region in 2025
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, released part of the World Bank’s report on Afghanistan’s economic growth in a post on X.
According to this report, inflation in Afghanistan is expected to average about two percent in 2025, which is one of the lowest inflation levels in the region.
This positive situation is due to the stability of food prices and the strengthening of the Afghan national currency.
The World Bank emphasized in its recent report that Afghanistan’s economy is expanding for the second consecutive year, although there are challenges such as rapid population growth, a trade deficit, and persistent poverty.
The GDP growth forecast for 2025 is around 4.3%.
The report points to relative economic stability following recent political changes and describes price stability as a short-term relief for households, although heavy dependence on imports remains an external risk.
