Islamic Emirate will not participate in the meeting of special representatives of regional countries in Tehran

Zia Ahmad Takal, Head of Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, confirmed in an interview with the media that the Afghan government has been invited to the meeting of special representatives of some regional countries on Afghanistan, which is scheduled to be held in Tehran; however, the Islamic Emirate will not participate in this meeting.

Mr. Takal explained the reason for the non-participation as follows: “Afghanistan currently has active relations with regional countries through existing regional structures and organizations, and good progress has been made in this regard.”

He added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs believes in strengthening existing regional positions and considers this approach more effective for expanding regional understanding and cooperation.

This meeting will focus on Afghan issues and will be held without the presence of official representatives of the Islamic Emirate.
