Kazakh delegation meets with Balkh governor, emphasizes expansion of trade and railway connection
A delegation led by Perkin Tokumov, Special Representative of the President of Kazakhstan for Afghanistan, met with Balkh Governor Mohammad Yusuf Wafa today.
The press office of the Balkh provincial government announced that the two sides discussed and exchanged views on developing economic cooperation, increasing humanitarian aid, expanding bilateral trade, and strengthening regional transit corridors.
Mohammad Yousuf Wafa emphasized: “Afghanistan is undergoing rapid reconstruction using its domestic resources, and the Islamic Emirate is ready to positively interact and expand economic relations with all countries, especially Kazakhstan.”
Yerkin Tokumov also assured that Kazakhstan will continue and expand humanitarian and social projects in Afghanistan, adding: “Kazakhstan is determined to connect its railway to Afghanistan’s railway network through the port of Hairan to create a new and shorter transit route between Central and South Asia.”
