British special envoy: Afghanistan’s prosperity depends on removing obstacles to women’s education and employment

Richard Lindsay, the British special envoy for Afghanistan, announced that for Afghanistan to prosper and progress, it is necessary to remove obstacles to women’s access to education and basic freedoms.

Mr. Linzi wrote on his official page on the X social network on Thursday, that he had raised this issue in a virtual conversation with a number of Afghan women from different provinces of the country.

He emphasized that without removing these restrictions, it will not be possible to achieve sustainable development and economic and social prosperity in Afghanistan.

So far, Islamic Emirate officials have not officially responded to these statements by the British special envoy.

However, the Islamic Emirate has repeatedly stated that the rights of women and girls are guaranteed within the framework of Islamic law and has called on foreign countries not to interfere in Afghanistan’s internal affairs.
