Trump: Entry of all Afghans under Biden should be reviewed again
US President Donald Trump has ordered a complete and immediate halt to the processing of Afghan asylum applications after an Afghan citizen shot two National Guard members near the White House.
The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that all immigration and asylum cases for Afghan nationals have been suspended until further notice, and that “protecting the country and the American people is the top priority.”
In a video message from Florida, Trump declared in a harsh tone: “We are confident that the suspect in this heinous attack was brought to the United States from Afghanistan in September 2021 during the Biden era; the entry of every Afghan who entered during the Biden era must be thoroughly reviewed.”
He also called Afghanistan “hell on earth” and accused the Biden administration of bringing “millions of unidentified, unscreened” people into the United States.
Meanwhile, the US President ordered the Department of Defense to immediately deploy 500 additional National Guard troops to bolster security in Washington, DC.
