Afghan delegation headed by Badakhshan governor visits Tajikistan

The Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan announced that a delegation headed by the governor of Badakhshan has visited the Republic of Tajikistan.

According to the ministry’s press release published on Thursday the military deputy of the Border Police is also present in the composition of this delegation.

During this visit, the Afghan delegation met with the governor of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province of Tajikistan, the deputy border guard of the National Security Committee of Tajikistan, and other security officials of that country, and discussed the order of border ports, border coordination, and strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of border security.

This visit comes a few days after a delegation from Tajikistan, headed by the first deputy of that country’s Border Forces Committee, arrived in Kabul and met and negotiated with senior officials of the Islamic Emirate.

Further details of the results of these meetings have not yet been announced.
