Pakistani Defense Minister :We will adhere to ceasefire until attack is carried out from Afghanistan

Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif said on Monday that his country would remain committed to a ceasefire until an attack was carried out from Afghanistan.

The Pakistani defense minister’s remarks come as the two-day talks between Kabul and Islamabad on November 6 and 7, mediated by Turkey, reached a deadlock, with the Afghan side blaming Pakistan’s irresponsible behavior for the failure.

Pakistan’s defense minister stressed that Islamabad seeks peace and stability in the region but will not tolerate any threat from armed groups such as the TTP.

Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate officials have earlier accused Pakistan of not accepting responsibility for the country’s security and warned that they will defend themselves against aggression.

Border tensions between the two neighboring countries continue, and the international community has called on the parties to exercise restraint and resolve issues through dialogue.
