Maulana Fazlur Rehman :Pakistan cannot solve security problem with Afghanistan with threats
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, said Islamabad could not resolve its security problems with Afghanistan through threats and should respect Kabul’s national sovereignty.
The politician told reporters on Thursday, October 30: “If Pakistan is not willing to give up its independence at any cost, it should not violate Afghanistan’s national sovereignty either; the two brotherly and Islamic countries should establish good relations based on the principle of equality.”
Referring to the recent visit of the Islamic Emirate’s foreign minister to India, he warned that Pakistan should reconsider its policy towards Afghanistan to avoid creating bigger problems.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman added in another gathering, “The problem with the Pakistani army is that it both fights and negotiates; someone who fights cannot negotiate and someone who negotiates cannot fight. Leave this task to us because we were successful in the past and we will succeed .
