Tesla’s Elon Musk is moving towards an army of millions of humanoid Optimus robots

Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced in the company’s quarterly financial report that Tesla plans to build a huge army of Optimus humanoid robots and achieve production of one million units by the end of the coming years.

Designed to perform dangerous or repetitive household tasks, these robots can perform up to five times more efficiently than humans and will be a key part of Tesla’s growth strategy beyond electric cars.

Musk explained that Tesla will have a production prototype of Optimus ready by February or March 2026, with mass production beginning in late 2026.

Forecasts indicate that in 2025, about 5,000 limited units will be produced for domestic use, increasing to 50,000 to 100,000 units in 2026, and increasing to 500,000 to one million units in 2027.

These robots with advanced artificial intelligence will be capable of precise surgeries or household chores, and Musk has described them as the greatest product “in history.”
