India donates 20 ambulances and medical equipment to Afghanistan; A symbol of enduring support
Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar announced the donation of 20 ambulances and medical equipment to Afghanistan today, Friday, October 18, 1404, in a meeting with Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate.
He described the gift as part of India’s long-standing commitment to supporting the people of Afghanistan.
“This is part of a larger gift of 20 ambulances and other medical equipment that demonstrates our long-standing support for the people of Afghanistan,” Jaishankar said in a statement after the meeting.
He handed over five ambulances to the Afghan delegation as a symbolic step, adding that India is ready to implement six new health projects, including the provision of MRI and CT scan machines, immunization vaccines and cancer drugs.
The meeting took place as India upgraded its technical mission in Kabul to a full embassy and emphasized development, security and counter-terrorism cooperation.
Mottaqi appreciated this support and emphasized the strengthening of bilateral relations.
