Western sources reported that on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at least 250,000 people participated in one of the largest demonstrations in Dutch history in support of Palestine and against the war in Gaza in Amsterdam.
The march, dubbed “Red Line,” brought protesters to the streets of the Dutch capital to demand that the country’s government take a tougher stance against the Israeli regime.
Participants, who included people of all ages, waved Palestinian flags despite the rain and chanted slogans such as “Palestine, free, free” and “We are not free until Gaza is free.”
They carried placards with the slogan “Shame on Israel, shame on the government, your hands are bloody,” and stressed the need for immediate political, economic, and diplomatic sanctions against Israel.
The 6-kilometer march began at Museumplein, and protesters, many of them wearing red clothing to symbolize the Dutch government’s red line, marched through busy streets such as PC Hooftstraat.
