The Zionist regime’s concern about the formation of an Islamic NATO and Egypt’s military reinforcement in Sinai
According to Axios, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called on the Donald Trump administration to pressure Egypt to reduce its military buildup in the Sinai Peninsula.
Israeli officials have expressed concern about Egypt’s talks with some Arab countries to form a joint force similar to the idea of an “Islamic NATO.”
During Netanyahu’s meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, a list of Egyptian activities in Sinai was presented, which Israel claims violates the 1979 peace agreement.
These activities include expanding air bases, ports, and constructing underground missile storage facilities.
An Israeli official said: “What Egypt is doing in Sinai is very serious and we are very concerned.”
The idea of an Islamic NATO, which Egypt proposed in 2015 and is now revived with the support of Iran, Pakistan, and Türkiye, is a response to the recent Israeli attacks on Qatar and Gaza.
Egypt has denied these claims and insists that the military buildup in Sinai is to counter border threats, not a violation of the agreement.
