The United Nations Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday (September 10, 2025) to discuss the Israeli airstrike on the capital of Qatar.
The meeting was convened at the request of Algeria and Pakistan and aims to assess the violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and the consequences of this action on regional stability.
According to reports from news agencies such as Reuters and the Associated Press, yesterday’s (September 9) Israeli attack on Doha targeted senior leaders of the Hamas movement.
The attack, which was carried out by guided missiles fired from outside Qatari airspace, killed five people, including the son of Khalil al-Hayyah, a Hamas leader, and several civilians were reported injured.
The emergency meeting, scheduled for 3:00 PM New York time (7:00 GMT), will be attended by senior UN officials.
