Donald Trump sharply criticizes Joe Biden over Kabul airport explosion in 2021
US President Donald Trump has once again strongly criticized the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan under the leadership of Joe Biden, calling the August 26, 2021 bombing at Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport the most shameful day in his country’s history.
The attack, carried out by ISIS-Khorasan (ISIS-K), killed more than 100 Afghan civilians and 13 American soldiers.
“I think this was the worst day; we will not let something like this happen again,” Trump said at a memorial service marking the fourth anniversary of the event, which was attended by 35 family members of the fallen soldiers.
He considered the attack the result of the Biden administration’s inefficient management of the withdrawal process and called it a political and military disaster.
In contrast, former US President Joe Biden described the fallen soldiers in a statement as “patriots” and praised their sacrifice.
