Libya’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Sadiq al-Ghariani, described the silence of Arab governments over the killing of Gazans as a great shame and called on Muslims to actively participate in supporting the oppressed.
In a speech to Arab mediators, he stated, “What position do you have in the negotiations when you refuse to provide guarantees to the oppressed? What is happening in Gaza is a stain of shame on your foreheads and the Arab rulers that nothing will erase.”
These statements come at a time when criticism of the inaction of some Arab countries towards the developments in Gaza has intensified.
Al-Ghariani continued to call for practical and decisive action in defense of the Palestinian people.
