Medvedev warns NATO after lifting nuclear missile freeze
According to Russian media reports, Deputy Head of the Security Council of the country, Dmitry Medvedev, in response to the decision of the Russian Foreign Ministry to cancel the voluntary suspension of the deployment of medium-range and short-range nuclear missiles, held NATO countries responsible for this action.
In a post on the X social network, he stated that this decision is the result of NATO’s anti-Russian policies and creates a new reality that all our opponents must take into account.
Medvedev added, warning NATO: “Wait for the next steps.”
These statements came after the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that it would abandon previous restrictions on the deployment of these missiles and in response to US and NATO military moves, including the deployment of US nuclear submarines in strategic areas.
These developments come as tensions between Moscow and the West have intensified over the war in Ukraine and NATO’s weapons expansion in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
