Tragedy in Gaza: More than 100 people killed in the past two days trying to get food
The United Nations announced that more than 100 people have died in Gaza over the past two days while trying to receive food.
Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, cited a report from the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and reported that hundreds of other people were injured in these incidents.
He warned of obstacles to aid delivery, stating, “The months-long shortage of basic goods has exacerbated the crisis, and only the unhindered flow of aid can alleviate it.”
Haq also described Israel’s proposed routes for sending aid as inadequate, dangerous, crowded, and often impassable, and called for facilitating aid delivery and protecting civilian lives.
