Türkiye unveiled the advanced and indigenous “Steel Dome” air defense system at the 2025 Defense Industry Exhibition.
This multilayer system, utilizing artificial intelligence technology and the “Hisar”, “Shield”, and “Garz” missiles, is capable of countering ballistic missiles from drones and fighter jets at ranges of 10 to more than 60 kilometers.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan considered the system a response to his country’s defense needs and a step towards military self-sufficiency.
Aselsan Roketsan and Tubitac Sage companies are collaborating in the development of this project, and its mass production has begun.
The Steel Dome is designed to strengthen Türkiye’s deterrence and enable exports to allied countries.
