NATO threatens India, Brazil, and China with economic sanctions
According to international media reports, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that if China, India, and Brazil continue to trade with Russia, these countries will face 100% secondary sanctions.
The threat follows the announcement of new US military support for Ukraine and Donald Trump’s warning of imposing heavy tariffs on buyers of Russian exports.
Rutte also stated that NATO is designing extensive support packages for Ukraine in the areas of air systems, ammunition and missiles, and is working with the United States to ensure that Ukraine’s essential needs are met.
He called on the leaders of these three countries to contact Putin and encourage him to hold serious peace talks, otherwise these sanctions will severely damage the economies of these countries.
These statements come at a time when India, China, and Brazil are among the largest buyers of Russian oil and gas, and imposing such sanctions could have significant economic and diplomatic consequences for these countries.
