Destruction of Hosseiniyeh and banning of mourning for the Prophet’s descendants in Syria; Freedom of ceremonies of other religions

According to the Syrian media, on the first night of Muharram, the agents of the Syrian Provisional Government destroyed these religious places by raiding the Hussainiyyas built by the people.

According to these reports, the interim government has banned mourning for the descendants of the Prophet (PBUH).

At the same time, the activities of churches, synagogues, New Year ceremonies, Santa Claus rituals and Druze ceremonies are held freely in this country.

This discriminatory act has caused widespread reactions among the people.
