The members of the UN Security Council are changing.
The United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday elected five new countries to the organization’s Security Council.
Bahrain, Colombia, Congo, Latvia and Liberia were elected as new members of the United Nations Security Council for a two-year term.
The Security Council has fifteen members, five of whom are permanent members and the other members are appointed periodically by the General Assembly; only the permanent members of the Council have the right to vote, which include China, Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and France.
