Algeria’s draft resolution in the Security Council on the Gaza ceasefire

Diplomatic sources say that a draft Algerian resolution has been submitted to the Security Council, which emphasizes the immediate and unconditional lifting of restrictions imposed on the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

The draft resolution calls for the UN and its partners to be allowed to distribute aid throughout the Gaza Strip.

According to informed sources, this draft resolution emphasizes the provision of basic services in the Gaza Strip in accordance with international law.

Informed sources told Al Jazeera that 10 non-permanent members of the Security Council have requested a vote on the draft resolution today (Wednesday, June 4).

In this regard, Riyad “Mansour” Mansour, the permanent representative of Palestine to the United Nations, said that the Security Council is responsible for stopping Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip and its other crimes against the Palestinians.

Israel does not have the right to determine the future of the nations of the Middle East, especially the Palestinian people; the Palestinian people must determine the future of their own land.
