Luka Modric, the legendary captain of Real Madrid, announced that his time with the team has come to an end and that he is leaving the Galacticos with a heart full of sadness and great pride.
“A moment has come that I never wanted to experience, but that’s football. Everything beautiful must come to an end; Saturday will be my last game at the Santiago Bernabeu,” Modric wrote in an emotional message posted on his official Instagram page.
The Croatian midfielder joined Real Madrid from Tottenham in 2012 for €30 million and during his 13 years there he won 28 trophies, including six Champions League titles, four La Liga titles and two Spanish Cups.
