The beginning of a three-day ceasefire in Ukraine by order of Putin
The three-day ceasefire that Vladimir Putin called for on the occasion of the anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II began today.
The three-day ceasefire, which was announced by the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany, has been implemented since today.
The official Russian news agency “Ria Novosti” reported that the ceasefire began at noon today, Russian time.
However, the Ukrainian government did not accept this ceasefire and described it as a propaganda trick by the Kremlin. Kiev has called for a 30-day ceasefire instead.
Previously, in January 2023, Russia announced a 36-hour ceasefire on the occasion of Orthodox Christmas, but Ukraine did not accept it and described it as a “tactical ploy to strengthen Russian forces on the Donbas front.”
At that time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated: “They want to use Christmas as a cover to stop the advance of our forces in Donbass and attract more equipment and troops.”
