The start of early parliamentary elections in Germany
Polling stations across Germany have been opened since 8:00 a.m. local time on Sunday, 23th of February, and parliamentary elections have begun in this country to determine the country’s political future.
After a short and somewhat bipolar winter election campaign, Germany will elect a new Bundestag today, and the results of this election will determine the political balance of power in the next four years.
Among the 59 million eligible voters in Germany, about 2.3 million are young voters who are voting for the first time.
In addition, there are over 200,000 Germans living abroad who are registered to vote.
