Pakistani media reported that the WPV1 virus has been identified in 21 different regions of the country.
The report states that these environmental samples were collected from Muzaffarabad, Deira Bagti, Heb, Khuzdar, Nushki, Nasirabad, Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, East Karachi and several other areas.
Pakistan and Afghanistan are among the countries where there are still positive cases of polio.
