America has begun the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon
Amos Hochstein, America’s special envoy for Lebanese affairs, announced that the Israeli army has started withdrawing from the Naqura area in southern Lebanon on Monday, January 6.
Israel is moving its forces south of the line established in the ceasefire agreement; Previously, UN peacekeepers were stationed in the coastal city of Naqourah.
The US special envoy stated that the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon will continue.
According to him, the establishment of Lebanese army units in the south of the country has started up to the blue line.
The “blue line” is a border line established by the United Nations in 2000 between Israel and Lebanon to prevent military conflicts.
The Lebanese army also announced that Lebanese units have been deployed around Naqura; The deployment of Lebanese forces takes place at the same time and in parallel with the withdrawal of Israeli army units from this area.
