The Russian embassy in Beirut warned its citizens to leave Lebanon immediately, even by commercial flights if possible.
However, the Russian Foreign Ministry also announced that the risk of starting a war between Lebanon and Israel is currently very high; Lebanon is on the brink of a humanitarian disaster similar to the situation in the Gaza Strip.
