Muhammad Yunus took over the leadership of the interim government of Bangladesh

Based on Al Jazeera’s report, this announcement was announced early Tuesday (6th of August) by Joynal Abedin, the press secretary of Bangladesh President Muhammad Shahabuddin.

A day after the resignation of Sheikh Hasina and the announcement of the formation of a transitional government by the Bangladeshi army, the students who organized the protests demanded the presidency of the Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus over the transitional government.

Mohammad Younis, an 84-year-old economist and founder of Grameen Bank, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 for his decades of efforts to develop and reduce poverty.

In recent weeks, the streets of Bangladesh have witnessed massive protests against the policies of the Prime Minister of this country, and the protesters have clashed with the military and security forces. The Bangladesh Army has confirmed the resignation of Sheikh Hasina and her departure from the country.

Reports indicate that Sheikh Hasina 76-year-old prime minister who led for 15 years she was holding Bangladesh with a helicopter Nizami fled to India with his sister.
