OCHA: About half of Afghanistan’s population lives below the poverty line
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said at least 83,000 people were affected by floods in Afghanistan from May 12 to June 12.
OCHA said in a report on sunday 4th of August Afghanistan continues to face a severe humanitarian crisis with 23.7 million people in need of assistance.
Of these, 12.4 million people face food insecurity, and almost half of the country’s population, about 48%, live below the poverty line.
