The United States has provided the first military assistance package that includes F-16 fighter jets to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Based on the report of the Reuters news agency, US President Joe Biden, after months of Ukraine’s insistence and discussions inside the US, in August 2023, issued permission to send F-16 jets to Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told AFP that Kiev needs about 130 of these fighters.
On the other hand, Russia has warned that its forces will target all Western equipment, including F-16 fighter jets, that are provided to Ukraine.
