Israel’s military says it is determined to move Palestinian refugees from the southern Gaza city to what it has described as humanitarian islands ahead of a planned ground attack on Rafah.
Rafah is full of more than a million Palestinians who have already been forced to leave their homes due to Israel’s attack on other parts of Gaza.
Earlier, the USA said that Israel must show that it has a plan to protect civilians before carrying out such an operation in Rafah.
