The Washington Post reported that during a meeting at Camp David, US President Donald Trump questioned the country’s Secretary of War, Pete Hegsett, about the reduction of US missile stockpiles and the limitation of military options against Iran.
According to the report, the shortage of ammunition includes long-range guided missiles and defensive interceptor systems, and it has been said that this issue has been cited as one of the limiting factors for new large-scale attacks against Iran.
American media have claimed that during the recent conflict, the United States used more than 850 Tomahawk cruise missiles and more than a thousand Patriot and THAAD systems, and that ATACMS missile stocks have also been severely reduced.
Reports add that Trump has expressed dissatisfaction with the situation, while Hegsett has blamed his subordinates for the shortages.
