SpaceX successfully launched and deployed the first third-generation Starlink V3 satellites into space on the 13th Starship test flight.
According to reports, the upgraded version of Starship was able to successfully complete the second stage of the mission, and after deploying the satellites, the second stage of the rocket successfully landed in the Indian Ocean after re-entering the atmosphere.
However, the Super Heavy booster failed to activate all of its engines during a simulated landing test in the Gulf of Mexico and exploded after a hard impact with the water.
The third-generation Starlink V3 satellites have been developed with the aim of significantly increasing the capacity of the Starlink satellite internet network and are said to be able to increase the capacity of this network by up to 20 times, but the full realization of this goal depends on the successful recovery of the Starship boosters.
