The White House has announced that there is a memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States, but Donald Trump has not yet signed it.
According to the claims made, this memorandum includes a 60-day ceasefire, the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran’s commitment to clear mines within the next 30 days and not to build nuclear weapons.
It has also been said that the United States will discuss easing sanctions and releasing Iranian assets, while the US naval blockade will also be lifted.
American sources had previously told Al Jazeera that Washington and Tehran had reached an understanding on the Strait of Hormuz and nuclear talks, and that the agreement now awaits Trump’s final approval.
