China: Possible Iran-US agreement to be submitted to Security Council for approval

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has stated in statements that any possible agreement between Iran and the United States will be submitted to the United Nations Security Council for approval to gain legitimacy and credibility.

Emphasizing the progress of negotiations between Tehran and Washington, the Chinese Foreign Minister said that Beijing has worked to resolve differences and maintained its communication with major parties and regional partners.

He also emphasized respect for the sovereignty of countries, the protection of civilian targets, and maintaining the security of energy infrastructure.

Wang Yi also welcomed the mediation efforts of various countries, including Pakistan, and expressed hope that the conflicting parties would adhere to the ceasefire and continue the path of dialogue to restore stability and peace in the region.
