Esmail Beqaei, spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, has said that the focus of the ongoing negotiations with the United States is on ending the war and stopping the conflicts, and that at this stage there will be no discussion on the nuclear issue.
Referring to US threats regarding the suspension of enrichment, he said: “The guarantee is the power of the Iranian nation, the same lesson the nation taught the aggressors.”
Baghaei emphasized that negotiators are part of the government and have clear duties to ensure Iran’s national interests.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman added that a cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, is included in the understanding between the parties.
He also said that the recent developments were the result of several weeks of talks mediated by Pakistan, and although they have reached a conclusion on a large part of the issues, it is not yet possible to talk about the imminent signing of an agreement.
Baqaei has criticized US policies in the region, stating that Washington is only concerned about the interests of the Zionist regime and does not value the security and stability of the region.
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, he also said that the agreement did not discuss the strait and that its administration is a matter for the coastal countries.
