reports:Afghan refugees in Iran face severe economic and security problems

According to a report by the Joint Migration Center, Afghan refugees in Iran face serious economic, security, and social problems.

This report, which was prepared based on meetings and interviews with Afghan and Pakistani migrants in Iran, shows that harsh treatment, arrests, and violence against Afghans have caused a large number of them to choose dangerous smuggling routes to reach Turkey and Europe.

The report states that a large number of Afghans in the cities of Tehran, Zahedan, and Mashhad are trying to find human traffickers to leave Iran and go to Turkey and Europe.

Migrants continue to complain about lack of shelter, food shortages, and access to health services.

According to this report, Afghan migrants face serious risks of violence, discrimination, and mistreatment, and many of them consider Iran to be the most dangerous part of their migration route.
