The Wall Street Journal has reported, citing American officials, that US President Donald Trump is skeptical about Iran’s offer in the negotiations.
White House spokeswoman Carolyn Leavitt said that Trump met with his national security team this morning, Tuesday, and the matter is still under review.
In response to a question about the possibility of accepting Iran’s proposal for the mutual opening of the Strait of Hormuz, he emphasized that he could not give a definitive answer, but that the proposal had been discussed.
Leavitt also added that Trump’s red lines towards Iran are clear to the American people and the Iranian government.
The White House spokesman concluded by announcing that the US President would soon personally comment on the matter.
