Eid al-Fitr prayers held in Nuseirat camp, Gaza Strip, amid devastation and siege
Residents of Nussirat camp in the center of the Gaza Strip held Eid al-Fitr prayers today despite the extremely difficult conditions caused by the widespread destruction of continuous bombardments and the long siege.
Worshippers performed Eid in a simple space amidst the rubble and destruction of buildings and infrastructure, with a large attendance. An image of the steadfastness of hope and adherence to religious values in the midst of a human catastrophe.
The ceremony was held while the Gaza Strip continues to face severe restrictions on food, medicine, fuel, and basic amenities, and thousands of displaced and injured families are living in extremely difficult conditions.
Holding Eid prayers in such an atmosphere is a symbol of the spiritual resistance and indomitability of the Palestinian people against the occupation and crimes of the Zionist regime.
