700 Afghan workers rescued from severe frostbite Today at the Taibad border in Iran’s border areas

Iranian border authorities announced that the border guards of Khorasan Razavi Province succeeded in saving the lives of 700 Afghan citizens who were attempting to illegally enter Iranian territory and had suffered frostbite due to heavy snowfall and harsh weather conditions.

Brigadier General Majid Shuja, Commander of the Khorasan Razavi Border Forces, said that heavy rains and severe cold in the Taybad border area put these people at risk of death; the border forces, using their medical and health facilities, took care of the condition of these people and prevented their possible death.

He also urged Afghan citizens to use official and legal channels if they need to enter Iran, stressing that otherwise, violators will be dealt with according to the law.

This incident occurred while Iran’s eastern borders are witnessing widespread attempts to illegally enter Afghan migrants during the winter, and the harsh weather conditions pose great risks to their lives.
